The younger brother of Ronny Rios, he was the youngest fighter to win a gold medal at the Junior Olympics at 14-years-old in 2012 and caught the attention of the boxing world as he continued on to become a six-time national champion during his amateur career. Rocha signed with Golden Boy in January 2016 and made an electrifying professional debut in March 2016, knocking out Jordan Rosario at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. His only career blemish is a unanimous decision loss in October 2021 against Rashidi Ellis, in which he confidently came back with five consecutive wins. Rocha locked in the NABO Welterweight title in a unanimous decision victory against Argentinian Luis Alberto Veron in July 2022 on the undercard of Ryan Garcia vs. Javier Fortuna, which he successfully defended against Jesus “Ricky” Perez in October 2022.

Anthony “Juice” Young represents Atlantic City, New Jersey. He made his professional debut at 23-years-old on October 28, 2011 against Kywayne Hill, winning by unanimous decision. With only two blemishes on his early career resume, he has had a string of wins, including a stunning upset of former WBO junior middleweight champion Sadam Ali via third-round knockout on the May 2019 Alvarez vs. Jacobs undercard in Las Vegas. Since then, he has fought victoriously three times, the last being a unanimous decision win over Jose Zaragoza in October 2022.

Washington State to Meet Fresno State in Second Annual Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel at SoFi Stadium

INGLEWOOD, CA (December 4, 2022) — Washington State, the Pac-12’s No. 5 team, after CFP selection, and the Mountain West Champion Fresno State have been selected to meet in the second annual Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 17th at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are priced as low as $35. For additional information and to purchase tickets and suites, head to www.LABowlGame.com.

The Washington State Cougars are heading to their seventh consecutive bowl game. Jake Dickert served his first full season as the head coach after moving up from defensive coordinator to guide the team for the final six games of the 2021 season.

The Cougars finished the year 7-5 with all five losses coming to the top teams in the Pac-12. Dickert’s team lost to Oregon by three points and Utah by four points. One of their non-conference wins was on the road in Wisconsin. The Cougars averaged 27.8 points and 375.5 yards per game and their defense was fifth in the conference in giving up 22.4 points and 394 yards per game.

Quarterback Cameron Ward completed 298 of 465 passes for 3,094 yards and 23 touchdowns. His favorite targets were receivers De’Zhaun Stribling and Robert Ferrel. Stribling caught 51 passes for 602 yards and five touchdowns and Ferrel had 46 receptions for 517 yards and four touchdowns.  The Cougars ground game was led by Nakia Watson, who had 736 yards in 130 rushes and eight touchdowns.

Fresno State earned the berth to the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented by Stifel by stopping the Boise State Broncos on their home field, 28-16. The Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss to the Broncos this season, 40-20, but still went on to win the Western Division of the Mountain West to earn the trip to the Mountain West championship game. The Bulldogs, under coach Jeff Tedford, are 9-4 on the year and 8-1 in conference.

Tedford is in his second stint as head coach for the Bulldogs. He took the Bulldogs to a 26-14 record in three years (2017-2019), including a Mountain West championship and two bowl wins before stepping aside due to health concerns. He returned to the Bulldogs last December when he was named head coach for a second time. Before coming to Fresno State, Tedford was the head coach for California for 10 years (2002-2012).

Fresno State has won eight straight games after getting off to a slow start with one win in their first five games. Two of the losses were games with two of the top teams in the Pac 12 – USC and Oregon State. All four losses for Fresno State were against bowl eligible teams.

Quarterback Jake Haener, who missed part of the season with a lower leg injury, has been strong completing 228 of 314 passes for 2,616 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead the conference.  Jordan Mims heads up the strong Bulldog running game with 1,163 yards in 243 tries and 16 touchdowns. Haener’s top targets have been Jalen Moreno-Copper and Nikko Remigio.  Moreno-Copper has 79 catches for 1,044 yards and five scores, and Remigio has 69 receptions for 768 yards and five touchdowns.  Linebackers Levelle Bailey and Malachi Langley and defensive back Evan Williams lead the Bulldogs defense.

Entering last weekend’s championship game, Fresno State had the top ranked offense in the conference averaging 30.9 points per game and 407 yards per game. The defense ended fifth in the conference giving up 20.8 points and 354 yards per game.

“We are thrilled to welcome back the Mountain West and Pac-12 Conferences to our second annual bowl game at SoFi Stadium,” said Jason Gannon, executive director, Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel. “College football’s bowl season begins and ends at SoFi Stadium this year, with an exciting match-up of Washington State vs. Fresno State at the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel followed by the top two teams in the nation playing for the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 9. We look forward to hosting these two great college football games at SoFi Stadium.”

The Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel will also benefit community partners One For All, Boys and Girls Club LA Harbor and Boys and Girls Club LA Metro. The bowl game is committed to working with Inglewood’s One For All to support youth through social programs that emphasize the importance of personal growth and community involvement.  Similarly, Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl will continue to work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of LA Harbor and LA Metro by supporting STEAM and educational initiatives for the organizations.

Hollywood Park Introduces Design-Forward Residences With Modern Amenity Collections

In collaboration with acclaimed designers Kenneth Brown, Chloe Warner, and design architect Hart Howerton, the development will soon be home to two elevated rental residences, The Wesley and The Crosby

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2022)Hollywood Park, the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States, has unveiled its first collection of residences located in its forthcoming retail and entertainment district. Hollywood Park is situated within Inglewood, a historic and vibrant greater Los Angeles community, and is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke. The site will ultimately include up to 2,500 new residences with its first 314 commencing pre-leasing in January.

With prominent architects Hart Howerton and TCA Architects and interior design firms Kenneth Brown Design and Redmond Aldrich Design at the helm, the collection of residences range from studios to three- bedrooms, feature bright and airy living spaces with private balconies, expansive ceilings, and timeless design. The first two buildings, The Wesley and The Crosby, each aim to foster community and connection amongst residents by creating communal spaces that encourage engagement. In addition, the residences at Hollywood Park feature an unparalleled walkable location and will have immediate access to shopping, dining, sports and entertainment venues, public parks, and an entirely new office submarket.

“With the introduction of Hollywood Park’s initial residential phases, we are furthering Stan Kroenke’s vision to build a true destination for all of Los Angeles,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “The designs of the residences highlight the curation and planning that went into building Hollywood Park, a city within a city, that uniquely delivers world-class sports and entertainment and enhanced lifestyle amenities across its 300 acres.”

Inspired by an eccentric and cinematic aesthetic, The Wesley’s use of color contrast and geometric patterns is palpable upon entering the main lobby entrance. Featuring expansive triple-height ceilings and intimate seating arrangements, residents will be welcomed into a whimsical and sophisticated atmosphere, complete with vividly upholstered furniture pieces, modern lighting, and timeless touches. A constellation of paper lanterns will adorn the lobby, serving as a motif for lighting installed throughout the building.

“Aside from creating a playful and elegant atmosphere, our main design objective was to create a true sense of place. We wanted to make The Wesley a destination where residents and guests feel a sense of home in the unconventional design elements and comfort in the natural textures and patterns that fill the space,” says Chloe Warner, Founder & Principal of Redmond Aldrich Design.

A modern amenity collection will consist of ample work-from-home spaces, outdoor dining areas, view-studded sky deck, spacious fitness studio, a vintage game room, landscaped spa terrace with private cabanas, pet spa, and more. Upon completion, The Wesley will feature sweeping views of Hollywood Park’s Lake Park.

The Crosby is enveloped in lush textures. The moody interiors include an array of wood tones, leather, clean lines, and large-scale mid-century furniture vignettes from notable designers like Christian Liaigre. Residents will be met with a custom-designed staircase featuring fine leather braiding overlooking exclusively commissioned contemporary art pieces by artist Amy Kaufman. Other standout features include lobby-adjacent workspaces outfitted with acoustical paneling, two landscaped resort-inspired courtyards designed to celebrate the best of Southern California weather and a cabana-lined pool and spa, private screening room, and curated fitness center.

“The best design always comes from a very strong and clear point of view,” says interior designer Kenneth Brown. “The Crosby is meant to embody a comfortable and functional residence juxtaposed with an unexpected mix of edgy materials and elements of relaxed West Coast living. The design is truly integrated so that residents experience living outside of their unit, serving as an extension of their home.”

“The development of our residences was inspired by the abundance of art, culture, and history in Inglewood, resulting in two sophisticated residences that feature purposeful design and one-of-a-kind living,” says Christopher Meany, Partner at Wilson Meany, Hollywood Park’s development manager. “This was an important element as we began to execute on Mr. Kroenke’s vision for the residential, knowing that Hollywood Park aspires to become top-of-mind for renters seeking storied collections of full-frill units with first-class amenities.”

When complete, residents of The Wesley and The Crosby will enjoy Hollywood Park’s dynamic line-up of restaurants, shops, recreational space, as well as close proximity to SoFi Stadium, the home of the Los Angeles Chargers and reigning Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams, with world-class events right at their front door. The Wesley and The Crosby will begin pre-leasing in January 2023.

Miami, FL, October 27, 2022 – Concacaf has announced that the Final of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup – the 17th edition of the Confederation’s flagship men’s national team competition –  has been awarded to the world-renowned SoFi Stadium. The state-of-the-art venue, home to the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and reigning Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams, hosted the NFL’s Super Bowl LVI and was recently announced as a host stadium for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Our Final, on Sunday, July 16, will crown Concacaf’s best men’s national team and will conclude two months of elite football in our region that will also include the 2023 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final and 2023 Concacaf Nations League (CNL) Finals.

Additionally, Concacaf has also confirmed important details regarding next summer’s tournament, including the 2023 Gold Cup format, match dates, the nations which have already secured a berth and that the official draw will take place on April 14th, 2023.

“SoFi Stadium is a world class venue and Los Angeles has hosted so many iconic Gold Cup moments, making this stadium a fantastic choice to stage our 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Final”, said Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President, Victor Montagliani. “This competition continues to deliver on and off the pitch, with last year’s expanded edition showcasing outstanding football combined with passionate support from fans from all corners of our wonderful region.

“I am particularly pleased that in addition to announcing such an exciting stadium for our Final, we can also confirm that next year’s Gold Cup will continue to feature a Preliminary Round, allowing even more teams to experience the Gold Cup. This provides more access to top level competition for our members and is very much in keeping with our football first philosophy.

“The 2023 Gold Cup will be the centerpiece of a wonderful summer of Concacaf football which will also include our Nations League Finals and the final of the Concacaf Champions League. The Gold Cup Final will be the second soccer match held at SoFi Stadium. The venue previously hosted the Leagues Cup Showcase in August 2022.

Thus far, two nations, Saint Lucia and Puerto Rico have secured a berth into the Prelims. The remaining 10 participants will be confirmed at the conclusion of the 2022/23 CNL Group Stage, in March 2023.

2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Group Stage and Knockout Stage

The forthcoming location will be the first venue of its kind to bring entertainment to life by utilizing Cosm’s revolutionary domed and compound curved LED technology. Guests will be able to directly experience immersive content through the company’s proprietary, best-in-class technology that seamlessly bridges the gap between virtual and physical realities.

As part of Hollywood Park’s retail district, the venue will showcase a 26.6-meter diameter LED dome in a 65,000 total square feet facility that can hold up to 1,700 guests. Programming at the venue will include live sports and entertainment, experiential events and content, immersive art, music, and more.

“We look forward to Hollywood Park being the home of Cosm’s first venue. Their modern venue design and immersive LED technology will create a one-of-a-kind entertainment offering for our guests and our community,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “Integrating dynamic companies like Cosm into Hollywood Park’s retail space furthers our goal to create a tenant mix that is not only unique to Hollywood Park, but also delivers extraordinary experiences for our community.”

With 75 years of experience in immersive entertainment, Cosm’s vision for its first public venue stems from its pioneering experience and innovation in dome design, pixel management, 3D and real-time rendering, and high-resolution live video workflows for planetariums and amusement parks around the world.

“We’re redefining the way the world experiences content and up-leveling fandom by opening our first Cosm venue in the center of the entertainment capital of the world,” said Jeb Terry, Cosm’s CEO and President. “For decades, we’ve powered some of the most iconic and entertaining experiences for our partners around the globe. Now, we’re powering our own. Cosm isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling. It’s the energy of the crowd, the exhilaration of sitting courtside at the biggest sporting events, the thrill of standing front row at your dream concert, the intensity of being enveloped in immersive environments that you have to experience to believe. Cosm is bringing that to life – first in Los Angeles, then around the world.”

“Cosm is providing an immersive and interactive canvas for partners and creators to showcase new and existing content in a way the world has never seen,” continued Devin Poolman, Cosm’s Chief Product and Technology Officer. “From our live 8K immersive production to real-time technology that leverages gaming engines like Unreal, to the architectural and interior designs and engineered build of our physical venues, our vertically integrated platform seamlessly intersects the digital and physical worlds. Cosm is a portal that can transport you anywhere, anytime, real or imagined, and it is completely reinventing entertainment as we know it.”

Construction for Cosm’s Los Angeles venue, designed by HKS, will begin in the fall of 2022.

Hollywood Park Unveils New Installment of Los Angeles Inspired Murals by Renowned Local Artists

The Emerging Entertainment Destination adds to Art Program with Three New Murals from Marco Zamora, Alex Becerra, and Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., that Showcase Los Angeles Lifestyle and Draw Inspiration from Inglewood Community

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 20, 2022)Hollywood Park, the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States, unveiled the second installment  of murals in its art program. The new work includes murals by Los Angeles-based artists Marco Zamora, Alex Becerra and Alfonso Gonzalez Jr. who each created a piece that was inspired by the surrounding Los Angeles cityscape and its people.

Originally debuted in January 2022, the Hollywood Park art program provides cultural enrichment and connectivity for the local community through various works and methods of art. Already on display in Hollywood Park’s retail space are murals by three distinctive Los Angeles-based artists – Calida Rawles, Geoff McFetridge, and Eve Fowler. The program also stretches across SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater and includes installed works by Ned Kahn, Sandeep Mukherjee, and Bhavna Mehta, as well as temporary installations such as the Kinsey African American Art and History Collection.  Forthcoming in the retail area are two bronze sculptures by Alison Saar.

“We are continuing to deliver on our commitment to highlight local and international artists as part of our Hollywood Park art program,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “The program will only continue to grow, and we are thrilled to add incredible murals by local artists Alex Becerra, Alfonso Gonzalez, Jr. and Marco Zamora to Hollywood Park.”

The program is curated by Tiffiny Lendrum in consultation with Hollywood Park, the Inglewood Arts Commission and Wilson Meany.

“The murals support the vision of bringing together  local communities through music, arts and culture, sporting events, and entertainment conceived by real estate developer and Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman, E. Stanley Kroenke,” said Chris Meany of Wilson Meany, development manager of Hollywood Park. “This continuous partnership is a testament to Hollywood Park’s  longstanding commitment to introduce creative programming and cultural elements into this  vibrant mixed-use destination.”

Hollywood Park’s art program is part of a larger initiative to better establish and activate its public spaces by celebrating the multicultural experience that is woven into the fabric of Los Angeles living. By partnering with artists from different backgrounds, Hollywood Park offers future guests a cultural connection unmatched in current developments in the city.

Hollywood Park’s second installment features the following artists:

Marco Zamora

True to the artist’s passion for urban culture and the chaos of city life, Zamora’s bright-toned mural situated on Building 100, reflects elements of human connectivity inspired by the local neighborhoods of Inglewood. The kindred display is a result of Zamora’s unique artistic process, which begins by constructing an environment from photographs, later conceptualized and drawn by paintbrush. “I wanted to create art that emulates the life of a true Los Angeles resident,” says Zamora. “There is a unique time and rich history of life in Los Angeles, which is my intent to capture as a way to remind people of those who call or have once called this beautiful city their home.” Zamora’s intricate method of observation and photography techniques create a poetic play of recurring elements, such as objects appearing and reappearing, abstracted fields of color, representational spaces and patterned realms. This technique creates a beautiful and complex juxtaposition between humankind and the urban landscape.

Alex Becerra

Conveniently featured alongside Century Boulevard, Becerra’s artistic murals will come to life with an infusion of energy, color, and imaginative sound that hovers across the Inglewood landmarks. Largely inspired by the Los Angeles jazz scene and artists who shaped a new era in music, the art nods to those musicians who broke the barriers of racism and segregation during the 1950’s decade. Blue skies, palm tree lined streets, and lowrider culture is depicted in Becerra’s second mural, expressing his all too familiar connection and adoration with the city he grew up in.

“The memories I held unto as I observed music and culture throughout the years inspired me to create this reflective piece of art for the community,” says Becerra. “My hope is to invoke a sense of inspiration and inclusivity in which doing so can shape someone’s future in a powerful way.”

His thoughtful compositions incorporate all classical types of painting from self-portraiture to still life and genre scenes, dotted with recurring context specific objects like beer bottles and car rims. These symbols carry personal significance relating to his adolescence in Southern California and subsequent entrance into the international art world. In this way, Becerra’s highly referential work bears a distinct aesthetic and energetic vibrancy unique to the artist.

Alfonso Gonzalez, Jr.

Drawing inspiration from the cityscape and public parks of Los Angeles, Gonzalez Jr.’s work embodies the diversity of Angelenos and celebrates the shared culture found in Los Angeles. Highlighted by the word “Unidos,” which means united in Spanish, the mural’s theme of unity is passionately on display with the inclusion of a Mexican accordion musician. Historically, the accordion was an instrument used in regional Mexican concerts, and here it is meant to depict how something new is born when we come together and unite around a common interest. Similarly, the mural also depicts the innocence of two young children playing in the park amongst the Los Angeles skyline, meant to represent a hopeful sight against  the division often depicted in today’s media.

His paintings draw inspiration from the permanence of hand-painted signage and the physical weathering remnants of Los Angeles to narrate his own familial histories of labor and image making. The use of  multi-media textured pieces reflects the layers of the city he grew up in.

The first phase of Hollywood Park’s retail district will total 500,000 square feet, with 320,000 square feet currently under construction and scheduled to open in early 2023. Starting next year, Hollywood Park will bring local businesses and big-name international brands stretching across multiple blocks and walkable courtyards. Hollywood Park’s newest tenants will feature concepts including Grilled Fraiche led by South Los Angeles’ Peace Love Reedburg, a second location for family-owned Inglewood-based juice bar Antojitos Martin, and a second Inglewood location for Residency Art Gallery, a platform for artists of color. These new retailers will be joined by Three Weavers GRDN, the latest venture from Lynne Weaver, founder of Inglewood’s Three Weavers Brewing Company, Long Beach’s Iconix Fitness and Red Bay Coffee by Keba Konte, a renowned artist and successful food entrepreneur with deep roots in the San Francisco Bay.

Hollywood Park will become a city within a city with its recreational outdoor plaza as its social heart. When complete, Hollywood Park will include up to five million square feet of creative office space, an exceptional retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, a 300-room hotel, and up to 2,500 sophisticated new residences. The expansive outdoor-oriented districts will border a six-acre artificial lake while being interlaced with 25 acres of tree-lined public parks and open space.
