Brazil is the third-winningest team in the history of the CONMEBOL Copa América, winning its first title when it hosted the tournament at home for the first time in 1919, and most recently in 2019. 

The Costa Rica national team will play in the CONMEBOL Copa América for the sixth time. 2016 was the last edition where the Ticos participated in the tournament, and they have reached the quarterfinals of the tournament twice.

Mexico is participating in the CONMEBOL Copa América for eleventh time, and has played in two finals, making it the only country from another confederation to do so. 

Venezuela was the last CONMEBOL member team to debut in the CONMEBOL Copa América, making its debut in the 1967 edition in Uruguay.
