The Mountain West Champion Boise State Broncos and former Pac-12’s University of Washington Huskies, have been selected to meet in the Bucked Up LA Hosted By Gronk at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 5:00 p.m.

Boise State captured the Mountain West Championship Friday night by beating UNLV in the conference championship game, 38-21.   With the victory, Boise State won the title for three consecutive years and has won the championship seven times.  

Boise State under head coach Spencer Danielson is 9-4 on the year after beating UNLV for the third consecutive year in the title game.  In one of the four losses, the Broncos held their own on the road against highly ranked Notre Dame in a 28-7 loss.

Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen returned to the starting lineup in the championship game after more than one month on the sidelines.  He suffered a lower leg injury on Nov. 1 against Fresno State, but he was ready to go in the title game as he completed 17 of 31 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns and he ran 10-yards for another score. 

Madsen has completed 169 of 286 passes for 2,283 yards and 18 touchdowns and he has relied on seven different targets in Latrell Caples, Matt Lauter, Chase Penry, Malik Sherrod,  Chris Marshall, Matt Wagner and Ben Ford.  Dylan Riley has rushed for 1,111 yards in 185 carries and 10 touchdowns and Sire Gaines has 795 yards and eight scores. Safety Ty Benefield and linebacker Marco Notaraini lead the defense.

The Washington Huskies finished the season with an 8-4 record with three of the losses coming to number one Ohio State, number five Oregon and number 19 Michigan.  Second year head coach Jedd Fisch directs the Huskies.

Demond Williams Jr. has directed the Huskies offense at quarterback and has completed 231 of 330 passes for 2,850 yards and 21 touchdowns.  Besides his strong arm, Williams has been explosive on the run with 595 yards in 131 carries and six touchdowns.  He also relies on two backs in Jonah Coleman and Adam Mohammed.  Coleman has gained 673 yards in 144 attempts with 14 scores and Mohammed has 517 yards in 104 carries and five TDs.  Williams has five favorite targets in Denzel Boston (56 catches for 755 yards, 10 TD), Dezmen Roebuck (41 catches for 554 yards, 6 TD), Decker DeGraaf (31 catches for 353 yards, 2 TD), Jonah Coleman (30 catches for 344 yards, 2 TD) and Raiden Vines-Bright (23 catches for 235 yards). Safety Alex McLaughlin, and linebackers Xe’Ree Alexander and  Deven Bryant lead the defense.
