Hollywood Park, Gallagher and Special Olympics Southern California Celebrate “Play With Purpose” at SoFi Stadium

Special Olympics Southern California Athletes Joined Volunteers, Los Angeles Rams Representatives and Community Partners for a Day of Sport, Teamwork and Inclusion

Gallagher and Hollywood Park, in partnership with Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC), hosted the second annual “Play with Purpose” event at SoFi Stadium on Wednesday, August 19, bringing together Special Olympics athletes, volunteers and community partners for a day celebrating inclusion, teamwork and the power of sport.

Special Olympics Southern California athletes took the field at SoFi Stadium to participate in a series of football and fitness activities, including an obstacle course, bocce, kick pass, 40-yard dash, running back relay, flag pulling and wide receiver route run. Athletes also had the opportunity to participate in a dance station with Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders and experience a behind-the-scenes locker room tour.

“We are honored to partner with Gallagher to host Play with Purpose at SoFi Stadium for the second consecutive year,” said Adeja Spain, Senior Manager, Partnership Management, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “This event celebrates teamwork, physical activity and the incredible achievements of Special Olympics athletes, serving as a powerful call for year-round community involvement.”

The day culminated in a flag football game, where the athletes put their skills into action alongside volunteers. Rampage, the official mascot of the Los Angeles Rams, Rams Legend Isaiah Johnson and Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders cheered on athletes to round out the day in memorable fashion.
