With just 30 days until FIFA World Cup 2026™ officially kicks off in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee gathered regional leaders, transportation officials, venue executives, and community stakeholders at Los Angeles Stadium to showcase the region’s comprehensive plans to welcome the world this summer. The event highlighted plans for transportation, fan engagement, hospitality, operations, and community programming as Los Angeles prepares to host eight FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches, including the U.S. Men’s National Team’s opening match on June 12, directly following performances by global superstars Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, and more at the Los Angeles opening ceremony.

“Los Angeles is ready to deliver a world-class FIFA World Cup 2026 experience for fans, athletes, and visitors from around the world,” said Kathryn Schloessman, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission and CEO of the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee. “Thirty days from now, the eyes of the world will be on our region, and we are proud to showcase the collaboration, excitement, and community spirit that will define Los Angeles throughout the tournament. From the eight matches to the Official FIFA Fan Festival ™ Los Angeles and 10 Official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones across the region, we’re creating exceptional opportunities for fans and communities to come together, celebrate the global game, and experience the energy that makes Los Angeles unlike anywhere else in the world.”

Fan Experiences Across the Region
Los Angeles Stadium, one of the world’s most advanced and iconic sports and entertainment venues, will serve as the centerpiece for Los Angeles’ FIFA World Cup 2026™ celebration. Beyond the stadium, the region will come alive through 39 days of programming designed to engage fans across every corner of the region. The fan events kick off with the Official FIFA Fan Festival™ Los Angeles, an opening week celebration taking place June 11–14 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, featuring live match broadcasts, entertainment, and global cultural programming. Tickets are on sale now starting at just $10, with children 12 and under admitted free. Following the FIFA Fan Festival™ Los Angeles, 10 Official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones will extend the experience across the region, providing accessible, community-based opportunities for fans to gather and celebrate across the region throughout the tournament.

“As one of the most diverse and dynamic destinations in the world, the Los Angeles region is uniquely positioned to host an event of this scale,” said Larry Freedman, Co-Chair of the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee. “This tournament will leave a lasting impact on our communities, economy, and regional legacy long after the final whistle.”

“From transportation to fan celebrations and community engagement, the level of coordination happening across the region is extraordinary,” said Chris Klein, Co-Chair of the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee. “We are entering the final delivery stretch with tremendous excitement and we’re ready to showcase this momentum with the world.”

The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee, in partnership with LA Tourism, previously announced plans for a 39-day Fan Experience Guide. Available on DiscoverLA.com, the guide is the go-to resource for fans to plan their FIFA World Cup 2026™ experience in Los Angeles – from the eight matches, FIFA Fan Festival™ Los Angeles, Fan Zones, and all the FIFA World Cup-themed community events happening throughout Los Angeles this summer.

“I’ve been part of a lot of major sports moments throughout my career, and I can honestly say this summer is going to be something special for Los Angeles,” said Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Community Ambassador. “The FIFA World Cup will bring people together from all over the world, and our region is ready to welcome them with incredible energy and pride. From the matches themselves to the Fan Festival and Fan Zones happening across our neighborhoods, Los Angeles is going to deliver an unforgettable experience on and off the pitch.”

Transportation & Accessibility
The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee has built a transportation plan designed to accommodate fans across a wide range of budgets, travel preferences, and mobility needs, ensuring fans have multiple, convenient options to travel to the stadium and to the official fan events around the region.

One of the most important messages for fans is that there is an option for everyone when it comes to getting to the stadium on match day. Fans can take advantage of LA Metro’s Enhanced Service (Metro) for just $1.75 each way, utilize park-and-ride options across the region, rideshare services, or secure parking opportunities near the venue.

Metro will play a critical role in the regional transportation plan, offering one of the most affordable and efficient ways for fans to travel to matches. Expanded transit service and park-and-ride connections will help move fans throughout the region and reduce congestion around the stadium campus.

“Metro is proud to play a leading role in helping Los Angeles welcome the world for FIFA World Cup,” said Stephanie Wiggins, CEO of Metro. “We’ve been working closely to expand and enhance service across our systems, so fans have safe, reliable and convenient ways to get to the matches and fan experiences throughout the tournament. Whether fans choose rail, bus or our Enhanced Service options, we want getting around Los Angeles to be part of a seamless and enjoyable FIFA World Cup experience.”

Creating Once-in-a-Lifetime Experiences for Los Angeles Youth
As part of its commitment to creating a lasting legacy across the region, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee is proud to launch a new community initiative that will provide 600 individuals — primarily youth from underserved communities across Los Angeles — with a once-in-a-lifetime FIFA World Cup 2026™ experience.

Made possible through the generosity of local supporters and community partners — Bob Graziano and Wendy Wachtell, Jeanie Buss, Stephen and Regina Oswald Foundation, the Greg and Patty Penske family, and California Resources Corporation — participants selected through the Host Committee’s network of 26 Community Champion organizations will experience the excitement and inspiration of the world’s biggest sporting event firsthand. Experiences will include attending a FIFA World Cup 2026™ match in Los Angeles, taking part in the Official FIFA Fan Festival™ Los Angeles at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and playing on the Stadium pitch following the conclusion of the tournament.

The initiative reflects the Host Committee’s belief that FIFA World Cup 2026™ should inspire and unite communities across the region — ensuring that young people from every corner of Los Angeles have the opportunity to be part of this historic global moment.

Community & Human Rights Commitment
The Host Committee also announced a Human Rights initiative designed to reinforce a commitment to inclusivity, safety, and respect throughout the tournament. The effort will leverage the LA vs Hate initiative and 211 LA, a 24/7 hotline, which will have trained coordinators able to communicate in more than 140 languages available to provide live assistance and supportive services to residents and visitors alike.

Official Los Angeles World Cup Host City Supporters
The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee would like to thank the Official Los Angeles World Cup Host City Supporters — Amgen, Archer, Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Tourism, and Los Angeles Metro — for helping make the World Cup in Los Angeles possible. The economic and community impact does not happen without their support.
