Los Angeles Region to Host Super Bowl LXI in 2027, Welcoming the NFL’s Biggest Stage For the Second Time This Decade to SoFi Stadium
LOS ANGELES (February 9, 2026) — The Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee, led by the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, officially received the handoff of Super Bowl LXI that will be played at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027. The return to Los Angeles comes on the heels of Super Bowl LVI just five years ago in 2022, which delivered historic global viewership, record-setting engagement, and significant economic and community impact across the region.
“We are thrilled to return to the world-class SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LXI, five years after the Los Angeles Rams lifted the Lombardi Trophy on their home field,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “LA is our backyard—two franchises, NFL Network, incredible media partners and in 2028, flag football in the Summer Olympics. We have the utmost confidence in the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee to put on another great show.”
Sixty years ago, Los Angeles helped make history when Super Bowl 1 was played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Super Bowl LXI will be the ninth Super Bowl hosted in the greater Los Angeles region since then, reinforcing the region’s legacy as an iconic Super Bowl host and one of the most trusted and sought-after markets for global sporting events.
“Los Angeles is proud to once again welcome the NFL’s biggest moment of the year to Los Angeles,” said Kathryn Schloessman, President & CEO, Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission and CEO, Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee. “Hosting Super Bowl LXI allows Los Angeles to leverage a global stage to celebrate its history, uplift our communities, and create lasting economic and social impact that extends far beyond the final whistle.”
Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium located at Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination owned and operated by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke in Inglewood, California. In addition to the game, the slate of highly anticipated events that make up Super Bowl Week, including NFL Honors, Super Bowl Experience, Super Bowl Opening Night and a robust community program, will take place around the Los Angeles region, providing visitors and residents numerous opportunities to experience Super Bowl LXI.
“We built SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to elevate the best of sports and entertainment and bring together global communities around the world’s biggest events,” said Kroenke. “Hosting our second Super Bowl in five years is a testament to the tremendous experience Los Angeles delivered in 2022 and the dedication and leadership of Kathy and her team. Beyond our historic win in Super Bowl LVI that is memorialized through the championship banner hanging in SoFi Stadium, the game’s associated impact continues to benefit local communities, and we look forward to building on that legacy in Inglewood and across the greater Los Angeles region leading up to Super Bowl LXI.”
The impact from Super Bowl LVI in 2022 was felt across the entire Los Angeles region. The event generated upwards of $477 million in economic impact, brought tens of thousands of visitors to hotels, energized the transportation system, and provided local businesses with meaningful procurement opportunities to engage in the event. Through LASEC’s Business Connect program, 225 women-, minority-, LGBTQIA+-, and veteran-owned businesses participated — ensuring local businesses had access to compete for contracting opportunities. In 2027, the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee is proud to support NFL Source and continue helping connect local businesses across Los Angeles to Super Bowl opportunities, building on its ongoing work through the LASEC Business Connect program.
Super Bowl LXI will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC, bringing Los Angeles to hundreds of millions of viewers. As one of the most watched sporting events each year, the game will further amplify the region’s role as the epicenter of sports, culture, and entertainment.
Super Bowl LXI in 2027 will also be a key milestone in an unprecedented decade for major events for Los Angeles, as the region prepares to welcome the FIFA World Cup (2026), Super Bowl LXI (2027), and the Olympic & Paralympic Games (2028) in three consecutive years.
